Outlaws All Business vs. Mohawks
This game showed just how far this team has come together as working as a group. From the body language, to the epic cheers roaring from the bench, to the monster high fives given after a goal. The Outlaws were on the road to the beautiful town of Fergus where they stood their ground and showed how powerful of a team they can be, taking this matchup 5-1.

The Outlaws came to play this past Tuesday against a very quick-passing Mohawks team. Fergus just couldn't keep up with the upbeat offensive pressure the Outlaws threw at them.

To start the 1st period, No.1 Emmalin McLaughlin was a wall that Fergus just couldn't seem to figure out. She made key back-to-back saves, along with a tough breakaway save, sticking her left leg out to rob what was sure to be a goal. Not to be outmatched was your captain, No. 3 Blake Elzinga, who must have had a restful sleep on the drive over as he was ready to play. Putting in the first goal of the game in was No. 15 Nathan Coverdale with assists from No. 19 Chad Simpson, No. 9 Jackson Kuepfer, No. 5 Karch Fletcher, and No. 8 Madeline Ellis. That's right, the whole line contributed to this opening goal. After the first period both teams were squared at one.

The second period, much like the first, had the whole Outlaws team contributing at both ends. No. 7 Bryce Collinson was ready to throw his body, and did so by creating a turnover that led to a him having a great scoring chance. There was some fantastic work along the boards by No. 11. Brayden Ridley and No. 16. Brayden Parsons, who kept possession while heavily under attack to make a slick pass to No. 3 Blake Elzinga. That resulted in the go-ahead goal, which put the Outlaws up 2-1. A similar play saw No. 3 Blake Elzinga and No. 2 Nolan Vessie work hard on the boards, earning No. 3 Blake Elzinga his second of the period and second of the game to go up 3-1.  The Mohawks showed some blasts of offence only to be stood up by No. 18 Travis Beaven and No. 13 Oliver Sawchuck. The second would end with the Outlaws ahead 3-1.

The final period had No. 11 Brayden Ridley win a great faceoff to start the period. No. 12 Chloe Eskrick had all day to move the ball up to No. 5 Karch Fletcher, who made a dangle like move to jump and shoot at the same time and put the ball over the Fergus tender. This goal made it 5-1. Just like she does, the Outlaws goaltender No 1 Emmalin McLaughlin would shut the door making catlike saves, all while having a smile on her face. In this period, No. 9 Jackson Kuepfer had something to prove as he had many big hits and forced three turnovers, all of which led to quality scoring chances.

The Outlaws would take this game with a final score of 5-1. Everyone will know this team comes to play every game and will certainly not give up easily. We are back Thursday June 14 at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex to go up against the Milton Mavericks, who will be ready to try to snap this nice win streak.
