Semi-Finals had Outlaws up against Burlington 2
If you didn't pay to come watch this game, you certainly lucked out!

Sundays mornings tilt had the North Perth Outlaws up against a well versed Burlington 2 team.  This game was the semi finals that had the winners moving on and the losing team beating traffic for the ride home.

The start of this game had action go back and forth for the whole first period.  Burlington was able to strike first by just beating goalie No. 1 Emmalin McLaughlin on the short side.  The Outlaws had just as much pressure thrown back at Burlington.  No. 3 Blake Elzinga, No. 4 Zoe Verwey, No. 16 Brayden Parsons, No. 17 Travis Beaven and No. 10 Dylan Heimpel all on the power play and were relentless in throwing everything at the Burlington tender, but just couldn't get one past.  The Outlaws tender No. 1 Emmalin McLaughlin stopped back to back break away chances Burlington had. No. 2 Nolan Vessie, No. 17 Jaxson Beires, No. 11 Brayden Ridley, No. 10 Dylan Heimpel and No. 9 Jackson Kuepfer frustrated the Burlington team on defence which forced a turnover and a great scoring chance.
The end of the first had Burlington up 1-0.

Second period got off with a goal by No. 9 Jackson Kuepfer after taking a sweet side pass from No. 3 Blake Elzinga.  This gave a good boost of energy to the Outlaws as this tied the game.  The Outlaws showed great defence in this period as Burlington weren't able to get another goal in this frame.  No. 1 Emmalin McLaughlin made yet more great saves on the penalty kill.
End of the second had all things tied up 1-1.

The third period had the Outlaws start on the penalty kill after a late penalty came after the horn at the end of the second period.  Unfortunately the Outlaws couldn't hold Burlington back for ever and this came evident as Burlington scored five unanswered goals and took the lead 6-1 and never looked back.  A late offensive push from No. 11 Brayden Ridley, No. 12 Chloe Eskrick and No. 17 Jaxson Beirnes was a good effort but this Burlington team was relentless.  Some tough calls and bounces in this frame seemed too much for the Outlaws to make a come back.  The final score Burlington 6, North Perth Outlaws 1.

This score certainly was not reflective as to the play from each and everyone of the players and everyone should hold their heads high and be proud of playing a great tournament.

North Perth Outlaws final record in the Georgetown tournament was 2-2.  Great weekend team!!!!
Outlaws are back in action on Thursday July 19th at 7:00pm in Listowel at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex vs the Arthur Aces.
